05/31/11 Update - At the May 31, 2011 Special School Board Meeting, Board members voted 7-0 to reject all bids for transportation services and continue with in-house transportation operations.

05/16/11 Update - School Board Meeting, Patton Middle School. Mr. Robert W. Cochran, Business Manager and Mrs. Sharon Allen-Spann, Director of Personnel and Pupil Services presented an evaluation of the transportation outsourcing bids. See presentation here.

04/01/11 Update - As directed by the School Board of Directors, District Administration sent Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to transportation companies for the purpose of receiving proposals for outsourcing some or all of UCF transportation services. It is important to note that these requests do not constitute a decision to outsouce any transportation services. Rather, they are meant to gather information needed to make the final decision.

-------------------------

Although the discussion has already begun concerning UCFSD Transportation services, the delivery of the TAS Transportation Study gives us an opportunity to give the public information and receive comments (see the email to the right). The study, which you can see below, was commissioned to evaluate our transportation services for efficiency and to further the discussion regarding the outsourcing of these services.

Discussions regarding the study take place during Finance Committee Meetings (6pm, every second Monday each month at the District Office) and School Board Work Sessions (7pm, every second Monday each month at the District Office). The School Board's voting meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 7:30pm at each district school on a rotating schedule.

We welcome your comments on this important discussion at trans2011@ucfsd.org.
